Our Northern Aviation History

Aviation has always been an integral part of the Great Canadian Wildlife Adventures field operations.

The specific type of aircraft we put to service each year depended directly on the type of expeditions we were operating, and the number of clients booked from season to season.

Beginning with our first float-equipped Cessna 180 in 1982, later led to the creation of the air charter operation of Air Thelon Ltd. which was based in Yellowknife, NWT from 1997 to 2002.

During that time we commissioned the only jet turbine powered float-equipped Cessna Soloy Turbine 207 operating in Canada, which we used on the field on and off for several seasons.

From 2002 through to 2006 and again briefly in 2008, we contracted & operated Cessna and Dehavilland aircraft under the charter operating rights of Kenora Air Services Ltd.
