This photo was taken without a telephoto lens on a Great Canadian Wilderness 'Dance with Wolves' trip in the NWT / Nunavut by wildlife photographer Michael H. Francis.  This is a perfect example of what sightings on the tundra can be like..  wide open spaces allow only a brief glimpses, at non-disturbing distances to these most wary of wild animals.
