This fantastic photo of a mother polar bear leading her two cubs across a coast tundra island was taken in August by Trip Leader / Photographer Mariela Urra Schiaffino during our 'Polar Bears, Muskox, Icebergs & Seals' wildilfe expedition in Ungava Bay Nunavik. Compared to many of the big commercial polar bear trips available out there, this is an altogether new, little-explored and photographed polar bear region that offers a completely new experience. Rather than large groups of people in big ATV's and other machines, instead we quietly travel in small groups on the water along with the Inuit people who live here year-round. We gently visit the polar bears and other wildlife in their totally natural habitat and environment... It's the real deal! During our first twol seasons operating this new expedition in 2016 & 2017, we had 100% success with polar bears and musk-ox sightings by all clients! See www.thelon.com/polar.htm.

Mariela writes:

"I was able to witness the positive evolution that our guests experienced in all of our expeditions. Being outside of their comfort zones, exposed to this sublime landscapes, rigorous weather conditions and encounters with animals in the wild, I think It is a genuine and profound invitation to re-think personal choices and priorities in everyone’s life. I am sure that all of them came back home with something much more than great pictures, something new and unexpected to share with friends and family. Being one of the guides I felt like a true travel partner in the deep exploration of this territory."
