Dining in one of the camps - great meals are served here!

One of Great Canadian's camps in the Canadian Arctric

We supply 16' & 18' boats with 15-40 HP Yamaha motors; all mixed gas required per boat; a satellite telephone, first aid supplies; and marked lake charts.   We often have part-time aircraft at the camp during the week for emergency use.

BIG trout spools out the light line and makes er 'sing'... sometime battles last for more than an hour!

We are proud to offer in service our new high-powered pontoon boat - the 'Boo Barge'.  Flown in & built on-site, we motorized it with a 60 hp Yamaha.  It has proven to be a super-stable platform for fly-fishing while anchored or drifting over the trout spawning reefs; or for slow trolling in comfort!

You will be based from one of our comfortable, catered and well-protected camp for eight days, after which you will return by float aircraft back to Baker Lake, and 'civilization'.  During your week with us you will be at one of the most remote locations on earth - and on one the most incredible fishing & wildlife adventures of your life!

Sleeping hut accommodations for every two people: heated, insulated, warm and comfy!

The fishing in the brief Arctic summer is absolutely awesome!  Lake trout are usually in relatively shallow water the entire season, trolling produces as many as 30-100 trout per day per boat (two fishermen), with record days producing as many as 115!  Trout average from the 6 -15 lbs, with many caught weekly in the 20-40 lb range.  Arctic grayling on the upper Thelon River is truly world-class, with fly-rod or ultra-light producing 40-50 at a standing.  The grayling here average 2.5 - 4 lbs.!  On calm evenings, BIG lake grayling will often come in and surface feed right off the camp beach!

Depending on the time of summer that you decide you join us, you can choose to take some from fishing to hike and explore to attempt to see wild tundra wolves & their pups during the den cycle; see pre-historic like musk-oxen herds; perhaps view Arctic fox during the den cycle along with thier kit; and migrating and grazing barrenground caribou on their late summer range. From mid-August & later, one often can see fantastic displays of northern lights!

All of our fishing expeditions apply 'catch & release' fish management - meaning that all fish are released, except for those which we eat while at camp, or during shorelunches.
