Book Review:
'Caribou and the North - A shared Future'
In the autumn of 2008, a wonderful new book about caribou was released; co-written by Monty Hummel: President Emeritus of the World Wildlife Fund Canada & Dr. Justina C. Ray: Executive Director of Wildlife Conservation Society Canada. This high-profile book includes a forward by Robert Redford and sketches by renowned artist Robert Bateman. This unique book offers an in-depth treatise of the history and current conservation issues surrounding the northern caribou herds, and the intricate relationship between caribou, carnivores, and the northern indigenous peoples. A must-read for all interested and concerned in the fate of our North American wildlife.
